STORI for Kelly and Kyle

30226095416Kelly and Kyle thought that growing their family through adoption was going to be a little bit easier the second time around. Not long after bringing four-year-old Charlotte home in March 2012, they felt a strong tug pulling them back to their daughter’s wonderful former baby home to complete their family. They committed to bring home two beautiful little girls, both with Down Syndrome. The older of the two girls had been Charlotte’s friend and part of her groupa. With a familiar, agency, process, and country, Kelly and Kyle had hoped to be in-country during the spring.

The stroke of one man’s pen turned their plans, dreams, and future family on its head.

Instead of spending the winter months making plans to bond with their new daughters and enjoy re-connecting with the friends they met on their first adoption journey, Kelly and Kyle advocated and waited for any sort of positive news to come from their daughters’ country.

After weeks of no encouraging news, they both sat down to make heads or tails of the big and little pictures of their rapidly adoption journey.

Kelly and Kyle started this second adoption journey because they wanted their family to be a bit bigger and their house a little more crowded. They have open arms and desiring hearts—something that stood to benefit any child who waited for a mama and papa to love them.

They cannot and will not forget “Little E” or “Baby A”, and will bring them home if the doors in their country are opened again.

For now though, the way forward is clear. Kelly and Kyle’s journey has taken a turn to a new country in Eastern Europe, a new program, and a new daughter waiting for them.

Any help you can offer them as they bring Stori (who they will call Louisa) home is most appreciated!
