Dave and Janie Daulton have 13 children, 5 “homegrown” and 8 adopted. One of their birth children and all 8 of their adopted children have Down Syndrome. One of their adopted daughters is Ethiopian, and four others were adopted from Eastern Europe. They have been working with orphans in Eastern Europe since 1999, with a focus on children with special needs. They have known Heather for three years, and are eager to bring her into their family. They intended to adopt her during their most recent adoption from Eastern Europe back in November 2012, and were approved for two children, but there were problems with some paperwork, so they have had to re-apply and begin their dossier all over again to complete their process for adopting Heather. They have been advocates for adoption and for the rights of children with special needs for the past 29 years, and have helped numerous couples add to their family through adoption. They really feel God has called them to adopt this one last time, as little Heather has stolen their hearts, and they hope to bring her home this summer. She is 11 years old and is the size of a 3 year old; the more time passes, the less time they will have to try and help her recover from her psycho-social dwarfism. Please pray for them and help any way you can!
