Dave and Stacy have been married for seven years and have four wonderful children ranging from 6 years old to 18 months. When they first met they knew that adoption was on their hearts and attempted adopting a little girl with special needs, but due to administrative difficulties, the adoption was unable to be finalized. Both Dave and Stacy wanted to use their talents to help children in need as they both had dedicated their lives to pursuing social justice. They did not give up on their dream to adopt and continued their passions for special needs children as treatment foster care parents in North Dakota. After giving their home, time, and energy to the foster care system, they decided to step away from foster care after their youngest son was born in 2011 in order to focus on raising their four children. They always knew, one day that they would love to adopt a special needs child, one specifically with Down Syndrome.
In Spring 2013, Stacy had multiple spontaneous conversations with others that included international adoption, all of which appeared to be a leading of God. Dave and Stacy had both prayed for the past seven years for God to lead them in seeking a special child to adopt and were both convicted that the time is now. Stacy stumbled upon Reece’s Rainbow and instantly fell in love with a little Eastern European girl named Treva. They both knew that she would be another arrow in the quiver of their family (Psalm 127:3-5). They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the fifth addition to their family and are vigorously working to raise the funds to bring her home as soon as possible. We believe that every family deserves the blessing that a child with Down Syndrome brings and hope to raise double the money needed so that another family can have the opportunity to be blessed with a special child as well!
