DAWSON for the Wylie family — OR

Ken and Julie have been married for seven years and have been blessed beyond measure! They have both always loved children and talked about having four (or more!) from the time they were dating. After being married three years and still not getting pregnant, they started looking into fertility testing and found that they would not be able to have biological children. Although that was very hard, a couple at their church began talking with them about the possibility of adoption. Within a few months they began to pursue a domestic adoption and about a year later, they brought home their precious daughter, Josie. Nine months after that, they had an opportunity to adopt their other sweet baby girl, Mabel. Ken and Julie are so very thankful that God has given them these two precious ones to love and enjoy. Josie and Mabel are three and two now and keep their parents busy and laughing at the funny things they do!

About a year ago, when they were getting ready to start the adoption process again, Ken remembers thinking that maybe they could consider adopting a child with special needs. When he brought it up with Julie, she told him that she had been thinking the same thing! A few months later, Julie came across a blog-post that led her to Reece’s Rainbow. She couldn’t stop thinking about the little ones in Eastern Europe who do not have families to love them…and the more she and Ken prayed and talked, the more they thought (and hoped!) God was leading them to adopt a child with Down syndrome through Reece’s Rainbow. When a little girl who they were seriously considering from Eastern Europe passed away, they were heart-sick for her and realized even more the urgency of bringing these little ones home as quickly as possible. After praying a lot about whom God would have them pursue, they saw a picture of little “Dawson” and both felt like they just wanted to hold him close and bring him home. They are hopeful that he might be the little boy God has for them and are so excited to bring him home soon!

They would love to have your prayers for little Dawson and that they would be able to bring him home quickly! Ken and Julie are so thankful for the support and encouragement they have received and are especially thankful to God for giving them this incredible opportunity. They know that these little ones are very close to His heart. Thank you!!
