John and Amanda met in 2009 through a family member who worked with Amanda. Since John was at a military college, their relationship was over the phone, through emails and little visits when they could. The day after John graduated, they got married! They have been married for 7 years and were blessed with their son by their first anniversary. John was in the military for 5 years and then made the switch to law enforcement.
Years passed and after trying for 5 years to have more children, they went to a fertility specialist to find out that Amanda was blessed to even have had her son because there wasn’t much hope of her having another naturally. The next option they were given was IVF and rather than put their money in hopes of getting pregnant, they felt that God was leading them to adopt a child who needed a home already. John and Amanda were on the waiting list for a pair of twins with numerous special needs, but God had a different little girl who needed them more. John and Amanda fell in love with Emmaline – soon to be Temperance, through her jubilant smile! Her big brother is so excited to have her home, he sleeps with her picture by his bed and prays for her every day.
